**This position can be based anywhere in the Southeast.**



Job Description:



The Regional Vice President of Sales is a high-level field based position that is responsible for building and managing the Company’s sales pipeline and leading a team of sales representatives in a specific geographic area (Southeastern US) to successfully deliver on their respective sales goals.



In this role, the Regional VP works closely with the VP of Sales, Marketing staff, Product Managers and Service staff to develop and implement specific strategic plans to achieve or exceed revenue targets throughout assigned territories.



Key Responsibilities of Regional Vice President of Sales:



Strategic Vision


  • Execute and maintain a consistent and effective sales strategy.
  • Interface and interact with internal stakeholders to reinforce consistency in sales vision.
  • Partner with Business Development to develop and execute on legislative, funding and state strategies.
  • Collaborate with marketing staff to gain access to target customers through appropriate education conferences and trade shows.

Management


  • Recruit, coach, mentor, manage and lead a world class team of sales professionals in a geographic region to achieve quarterly and yearly sales targets.
  • Coach sales representatives to penetrate accounts, captivate decision makers, and overcome selling obstacles.
  • Work with sales representatives to create and execute tactical sales plans that apply to strategic sales vision.
  • Assist sales representatives in discovering new sales opportunities within each geographic region.

Sales


  • Close new sales that generate high volume revenue, long-term client relationships, and/or improve Wireless Generation’s strategic position in the marketplace.
  • Develop effective sales strategies and deliver compelling product demonstrations and sales pitches.
  • Cultivate and grow relationships with industry, government, and education leaders that will lead to sales opportunities and new business.
  • Proactively create and maintain positive and mutually profitable customer relations to help ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and customer renewals.
  • Navigate government systems, hierarchies and related legislation to overcome obstacles and discover winning sales solutions.

Market and Product Expertise


  • Develop and maintain expertise in Wireless Generation product features and benefits.
  • Apply a thorough understanding of the educational marketplace, industry trends, funding developments and Wireless Generation products to all management activities and strategic sales decisions.
  • Assess RFP opportunities. Work with Business Development to drive completion of comprehensive responses.

Operations


  • Ensure that Sales department operations function smoothly, with the goal of facilitating smoothly executed sales and/or closings; operational responsibilities include accurate pipeline reporting and quarterly sales forecasts.
  • Negotiate and resolve contract issues.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with Educational Services Agencies and consortia to extend sales capabilities across the territory.
  • Proactively capture, monitor and report key performance sales indicators and metrics for Vice President of Sales.



Requirements of Regional Vice President of Sales:


  • 10+ years successful sales leadership experience (preferably enterprise software solutions) as measured by sales performance against goals, as well as demonstrated ability to manage a complex sales cycle.
  • BA/BS degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Enterprise Software Solutions, K12 Administrative and Operational processes, and computer technology experience is necessary.
  • Demonstrated high-level influencing skills.
  • Established relationships with Superintendents, Chief Academic Officers, and district-based decision makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to travel within the coverage area and occasionally nationwide.
  • Excellent verbal and comprehension skills, as well as ability to interact with multiple levels within a K12 organization from Superintendents and Principals to Board Members and Technology Directors.
  • Superior leadership experience in a solution-based sales environment.
  • Highly motivated, as well as able to create and develop a highly-motivated, success oriented sales team.
  • Experience and proven ability to define and solve sales challenges, as well as to locate, qualify and close sales opportunities.
